They come at night when all is quiet
To walk the halls and watch the kids
He sits in a rocker by the window
and watches me type
While she prefers to stand in the bedroom
and watch over my child
If you listen you can hear her sing
to soothe an infant child
He never speaks just sits and rocks
They come each night when all is still
to comfort me to watch over and protect us
This is still their home
For they never really left
They are simply echos of the past
Taking care of the rest of us
