We walk alone throughout our lives
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven,
By chance sharing moments of joy, of pain,
Walking side by side in sun and rain.

You stand for a moment beside me
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven,
Smiling thoughts of are pools of laughter
Collecting in our memories for ever after.

We walk alone through meadows of life
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven,
Nodding to one another, a moment shared
Knowing along the way someone cared.

I turned a corner and you were still there
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven,
But no longer in view of one another,
We each walked alone to another lover.

We danced through our years and lives
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven,
And here we are walking alone again,
Walking together but not as we began.

Your road and mine crossed paths once more
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven.
We greet each other in joyful smiles,
As we shed the dust of years and miles.

My road and yours different but the same
Beneath the Canopy of Heaven,
As friends who answer friendships calls
As always until the Canopy of Heaven Falls.
